The RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo will take place Jan. 28, at the Speedway Club at Lowe's Motor Speedway. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
More than 300 veterans are expected to attend the event to help recently returning troops and other veterans and service members and their spouses with employment, entrepreneurship and educational opportunities.
Veterans will be able to interview with national, regional and local employers at the event. It is produced in cooperation with the President's National Hire Veterans Committee (HireVets First), The American Legion and the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN).

Eberly elected to Comfort Keepers Advisory Council
Lori Eberly was recently elected for the second time as the Southeast representative for the National Advisory Council at Comfort Keepers senior care. Eberly will be one of 16 members on the council.
Each elected member will have the responsibility to listen and understand the perspectives and needs of fellow Comfort Keepers' owners in their region. They will be instrumental in working with both the corporate headquarters and the local franchises to maintain unity in the franchising system.
Eberly is known locally for her ongoing involvement and expertise in the field of senior care. She has a bachelor's degree in health policy from Penn State University and a master's degree in health administration from the University of North Carolina.
Eberly is also care manager certified and a professional geriatric care manager. She plans to pursue her doctorate in health services administration. Eberly owns three area Comfort Keepers franchises and will celebrate her ninth year as a Comfort Keepers franchise owner in March.
Eberly's term will begin at this year's first National Advisory Council meeting in Dayton, Ohio, on Feb. 2 and 3.

Dr. David Godwin joins Salisbury ChiropracticDr. David D. Godwin has joined Dr. Michael Pryor at Salisbury Chiropractic, 2907 South Main St.
Godwin is originally from Salisbury and is a graduate of West Rowan High School and Catawba College. He attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina, earning a doctorate in biochemistry before going to Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Mo.
Upon graduation in 1984, he began practicing in Canaan, Conn., where he was the director of the Canaan Healing Arts Center for 25 years, a family based practice with an emphasis on nutrition and well being.
Godwin has post-graduate training in manipulation under anesthesia, nutrition and rehabilitation. He is the clinical advisor for SentryBlue Pulse, a Web-based health care information network.
Godwin, his wife Lori, and his children moved to Salisbury to be closer to their families. Godwin is accepting new patients. Call 704-633-9335 for an appointment.
Salisbury native receives 'Famous Alumni Award'
Michael Edwards, a Salisbury who now lives in Melbourne, Fla., has been awarded the 2010 Famous Alumni Award from the American College of Healthcare Sciences.
Edwards is the son of Ralph G. and Anzonnetta Edwards. He is a 1965 graduate of Boyden High School.
Edwards graduated from East Carolina University in 1971 with a bachelor of science degree. He earned a master's in health education in 2001.
For the past three years, Edwards was the health education program manager at Patrick Air Force Base in Cocoa Beach, Fla. He is the founder of Thee Wellness Institute, which provides community and business preventative health and wellness programs for the prevention of sickness and disease.
