Mel Watt’s office is accepting applications for the 2011 12th Congressional District Summer Internship Program.
The Summer Internship Program is open to students who live in or are enrolled in a degree program at a post-secondary academic institution in the 12th Congressional District of North Carolina.
Students who are interested in learning more about public service, the federal government and the operations of a congressional office are encouraged to apply; however, students pursing degrees in the social sciences may find the program most applicable to their academic studies.
The term of this year’s summer internship is June 6 through Aug. 5. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, resume and writing sample to my Charlotte District Office, 1230 W. Morehead St., Suite 306, Charlotte, NC 28208-5214 and to the attention of Tawana Wilson-Allen no later than the March 25 deadline.
The letter of interest should also indicate whether the student is interested in serving in Watt’s Charlotte or Greensboro office.
For further information, please contact Tawana Wilson-Allen, 704-344-9950 or Tawana.Allen@mail.house.gov.
