Braylen Ketchie A son, Braylen Paul, was born to Stephanie Shue and Ricky Ketchie of Rockwell on Sept. 28, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. He weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces. Grandparents are Tim and Judy Shue of Rockwell, and Mike and Joyce Ketchie of Cleveland. Great-grandparents are Bertha Miller and Willie Shue, both of Rockwell, Wayne and Sarah Golden of Mooresville, and Sam Upright of Cleveland. Opal Simms of Mooresville is great-great-grandparent.

Karigan Curry

A daughter, Karigan Grace, was born to Tim and Kari Sparger Curry of Lexington on Nov 9, 2009, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds. She has a sister, Emily, 19. Grandparents are John and Kathy Barringer of Salisbury, Phip and Kim Sparger of Spencer, and Frank and Nancy Curry of Lexington. Great-grandparents are Emily and Toots Sparger of Spencer.

Kayden Weeks

A son, Kayden Ja'hon, was born to Yulandra Elissa Weeks and Stephen Eric Blanton Jr. of Salisbury on Nov. 10, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He weighed 9 pounds, 3 ounces. He has three brothers, Ke'Yows and Kortez Weeks, and Jalen Blanton, and a sister, Asharia Blanton. Grandparents are Eva Weeks, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Weeks Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Adams, all of Salisbury, and Stephen Eric Blanton Sr. of Baltimore, Md. Great-grandparents are Mr.and Mrs. Reginald C. Weeks Sr. of East Spencer and Juanita Blanton of Spencer.

Ashley Shell

A daughter, Ashley Marie, was born to Kenneth and Wendy Shell of China Grove on Nov. 12, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. She weighed 8 pounds, 1/2 ounce. She has a brother, Harrison John, 7, and a sister, Anna Caroline, 1. Grandparents are John and Sue Shell of China Grove, and Carolyn McEwen of Lexington.

Aiden Laney

Isabella Laney

A son, Aiden Stafford, and a daughter, Isabella Esperanza, were born to Wayne and Limary Laney of Salisbury on Nov. 18, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast. Aiden weighed 4 pounds, 5 ounces and Isabella weighed 4 pounds, 4 ounces. Grandparents are Frank and Sally Laney of Camden, S.C. and Eric and Brunilda Perez of Charlotte. Great-grandparents are Virgina C. Stafford of Sumter, S.C. and Carmen E. Torres of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
