Not Again : Monday, July 07, 2008 1:11 PM

I will not be returning to the fair next year. I spent $21 for my son to be able to enjoy himself, only to realize that he was not big enough to ride all but a few rides. On top of that, by the time we realized this (not all the rides had signs) our tickets were taken by the operators and torn up, so we were just out tickets. I have such fond memories of my childhood at the Faith fair, and to see how much has changed really saddens me. We wasted an evening of our time, and our hard-earned money.

Suggestion On Bands : Monday, July 07, 2008 10:01 AM

The bands this year were wonderful, especially The Entertainers and Right Turn Clyde. Beach music is excellent, but the younger crowd needs to be pleased too because they are the ones that will be spending the money for rides too. Too Much Sylvia and Right Turn Clyde are two great ones that entertain everyone!!!

need cheaper rides
Rides are to high! : Friday, July 04, 2008 8:38 AM

The price to ride at the fair is way to high!15 dolaars a arm band? If you have a large family like mine then it cost way to much to take to the fair. Sorry but this year we will not be there.

So Much Fun! : Thursday, July 03, 2008 10:53 PM

I have lived in Rimer/Mt Pleasant all my life and we enjoy the faith parade more than any. Thank you to the folks who live here and the Civic's that put it on. I fully understand the residents who live on the street being a little taken back by how its grown, but remember how much enjoyment you bring children and adults each year. Thank you to all.

Suggestion : Monday, June 30, 2008 2:00 PM

Just a polite suggestion to the townsfolk of Faith, maybe if you put out a trash can at the end of your sidewalk, or in some area near the public area people will toss their trash out there instead of on your lawn. It might be worth a try and it might save you from having to pick up after everyone when the celebrations end. BTW not everyone speeds in Faith, I know I don't; I don't want people speeding near where I live either :)

No, You Get Real : Friday, June 27, 2008 9:32 AM

To "Get Real" Please take your own advice. First, the week long celebration open to the public at large is possible due to the efforts of the CIVIC organizations of Faith and business sponsors from within and surrounding the community. Good on them for working hard to provide a good time for many many people and using the proceeds for GOOD WORKS!! Second, on the BIG DAY....THE FOURTH my neighborhood (Main Street is where I live) will be shut off for your enjoyment! I will not have the freedom to leave my property in my vehicle for a period of time, in order for you to enjoy the parade which celebrates FREEDOM and America! My house becoming a virtual island, will be surrounded by thousands of people (last year, my flower beds were trampled because the public sidewalks were not used by many). I will get the task of cleaning up the trash that some inconsiderate attendee will throw in my yard instead of carrying it out with them. The celebration put on by this small civic minded town is not restricted to actual residents. in fact my family and I don't get free rides at the fair or anything else to compensate us for the sacrifices we will make during the week and especially the big day for YOUR enjoyment. (Town elders...hint hint) So as usual, welcome to all during the week. Enjoy yourselves and the hospitality, but please don't abuse it. After all, Faith exists everyday of the year with families living their lives. They open up their BACKYARDS and front yards to all for an important celebration. This is our non-professional NEIGHBORHOOD! BTW: Every day of the year....my NEIGHBORHOOD (just like your subdivisions) has a SPEED LIMIT. Would you like me speeding through yours?? Another hint to Town elders: ENFORCE THE SPEED LIMIT YEAR ROUND - We need the short-cut takers and semis to SLOW DOWN! Speed humps would be nice; however if that would hinder the enjoyment of the annual parade for "Get Real", then TICKETS TICKETS TICKETS to the SPEEDERS!

what day does it really start on : Thursday, June 26, 2008 11:23 AM

I have heard from memebers of these clubs that it really kicks off on June 27th. So does anyone know for sure. I have called the Town and they say the 28th some of the signs in Faith say the 27th. Please look into this and publish the correct information.

Apple Ugly Eating Contest : Thursday, June 26, 2008 10:24 AM

Unfortunately there is some inaccurate information in the schedule above. The Apple Ugly Eating contest will take place on two nights. The first night is Monday, June 30th, at 8:30 pm (not 7:30pm as listed above), this night will be the Preliminaries. The FINALS will take place on Friday, July 4th at 8:30 pm. We hope that everyone will come out and participate we still have room for more "Ugly Eaters" but spaces are filling up fast. If eating Uglies is not your thing, then come on down and watch as other's compete for the title. To download a registration form please visit www.applebaking.com. We hope to see everyone there!

Civic Club Member
Great entertainment, close to home : Thursday, June 26, 2008 10:24 AM

The Faith 4th of July Committee made up of the 4 civic clubs in Faith, Faith Civitans, Faith Jaycees, Faith American Legion and Faith American Legion Auxillary, have worked very hard to make this years event fun and entertaining. What a great way to have a mini vacation without having to go far. The amusement rides are very good this year and the bands and entertainment will be excellent. And as always there will be plent of food. Remember the food booths in the grey block buildings are the ones served by the civic clubs. All proceeds from this event go directly to the 4 civic clubs and they in turn use for their philanthropy projects, mostly locally. We look forward to seeing you at the Faith 4th of July Celebration.
