Faith Baptist Church will host a patriotic concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 28. The Fourth of July Chorus, composed of voices from 14 area churches, will perform musical selections chosen specifically to honor all veterans and those who are now on active duty.
All who have served or are presently enlisted in the U.S. military are encouraged to wear their uniform and be recognized when music from their specific branch of the service is performed.
The chorus, under the direction of Dean Orbison, will be accompanied by Susan Trivette on the piano and Tim Gudger, viola. Dr. Karl Hales will narrate; Daisy Bost is the organizer of the free event.
Area churches represented by the musicians are Organ Lutheran, Faith Lutheran, Immanuel Lutheran, Concordia Lutheran, Christiana Lutheran, Grace Lutheran, Wittenburg Lutheran, First Baptist Rockwell, Faith Baptist, Bible Missionary Baptist, West Corinth Baptist, Central Baptist, Shiloh United Methodist, Grace Bible, Dayspring Community Church, First Presbyterian Salisbury, and First United Church of Christ Salisbury.
Before the concert, the Shrine Band will entertain with familiar selections. The band begins playing at 4 p.m. while the audience is assembling for the concert.
Following the concert, food and amusement rides will be available at Faith Legion Park, located directly across the street.
Faith Baptist Church is located on Main Street in Faith.
