MOCKSVILLE — Davie County Senior Services, 278 Meroney St., Mocksville. offers the upcoming events:

- Ask the Doctor: 10:45-11:15 a.m., June 1. Speaker: Dr. George Kimberly. Free.

Kimberly comes the first Monday of each month to answer questions. Although this is no substitute for a doctor's visit, it is a great opportunity to ask about issues that have been on your mind.

Open to adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.

- Day of Travel, Scandinavian Countries: 10 a.m.-1 p.m., June 5. $5.

The Scandinavian countries consist of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. Whether you are interested in history, the great outdoors, shopping or nightlife, this is the place for you. The presentation will "explore" this exciting region with a traditional lunch included.

Open to adults 55 and older and exceptions under the general participation policy.

- Summer Dance: 6:30-9:30 p.m., June 13. Deejay Barry Rentz. $5.

Dance to all your favorites. There will be a variety of music for all kinds of dancing, with or without a partner. Refreshments will be served.

- Golden Anniversary Party: Noon. June 16. Free.

All couples who have been married 50 years or more as of June 16 are invited to a luncheon in their honor. There will be a meal and the "Not So Newlywed Game."

At the Farmington site:- Flag History and Etiquette: 10:30 a.m., June 11. Speaker: Don Cover, Veterans' Service officer.

In honor of Flag Day on June 14, learn all about the history of the U.S. flag and proper etiquette, including when to fly, when to lower and how to dispose of a flag. Limited to the first 25 to register.

- "Doctor, it Hurts When I Do That": 10:30 a.m., June 23. Speaker: Wendi Uselton, Hospice and Palliative Care Center.Uselton will discuss the different types of pain, what different types of pain mean, possible treatments for pain, what is important to report to the doctor, and how best to talk to the doctor about pain. Limited to the first 25 to register.
