The Rowan County Concert Association is bringing Stephen Freeman as 'Elvis' to Salisbury.

On March 7, acclaimed tribute artist Stephen Freeman will perform "Echoes of a Legend," an homage to Elvis Presley, as part of the Rowan County Concert Association series.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be held at Keppel Auditorium on the campus of Catawba College.

Accompanied by a band and female singers, Freeman will evoke memories with his wide repertoire of Elvis hits, including "Love Me Tender," "Can't Help Falling in Love," "Don't Be Cruel," as well as some of Presley's favorite gospel songs including "Peace in the Valley" and "Amazing Grace."

Freeman was born in High Point in 1971 and graduated from Trinity High School in 1989.

He served as a police officer for six years in Thomasville and High Point.

Freeman began doing Elvis tribute shows in 1994.

He performs songs from all stages of Elvis' career, recreating the aura of Elvis, both vocally and physically. He frequently appears at the Barn Dinner Theatre in Greensboro and has appeared in theaters throughout the country.

He was featured in the book "Elvis Lives" by Pamela Williams, which featured Elvis tribute artists from around the globe.

In 2005, he was invited by Bluff's Run Casino, Council Bluffs, Iowa, as one of the top Elvis tribute artists in the world, t compete in their official Elvis Tribute ARtist Competition.

Admission is by RCCA season ticket or by single ticket. Adults are $20; students 18 and under are $5.
