More than 450 people attended this year’s annual Oyster Roast at the F & M Trolley Barn. Sponsored by the Waterworks Visual Arts Center, the event has become extremely popular and is Waterworks’ largest fundraiser. Proceeds go to support the center’s educational programs.

Big Daddy’s of Lake Norman provided all-you-can-eat steamed oysters and shrimp, with all the fixins. Also offered were chicken bites, Brunswick stew, a Curt and Geri’s ice cream bar and a Koco Java coffee bar. Seventeen themed baskets from local businesses were raffled off.

Next year’s Oyster Roast is set for Saturday, Jan. 26.
