Piano recital

Piano students of Marsha Carter and Jan Sywenki presented a Christmas duet recital on Dec. 22 at First Baptist Church of China Grove.

Laura Myers performed the organ prelude for the program.

Woman’s club meeting

The Salisbury Woman’s Club began the new year with a look at ten ways to improve personal finances presented by Fred Brinskelle III of the Horace Mann Company.

Ann Bingham shared thoughts and statistics on how to choose personal treasures. Angelia Bates, president, led the business session where special projects were discussed.

Billy Burke of the Duplicate Bridge Club noted that a memorial for June Evans, presented by her daughters, would include a trophy and a plaque for the Bridge Club.

A winter wonderland menu, catered by Trinity Oaks, completed the snowflake theme used by hostesses Becky Ulrich and Angelia Bates.
