Piedmont Farmers Market: Winter Tailgate Market will be open Saturday 9 a.m. until noon at 518 Winecoff School Road in Concord.

Local farmers and producers will be on hand with fresh seasonal produce, grass fed beef, pastured pork and free range eggs. In addition, local artisans and specialty food vendors will be on site.

Due to increased demand for local foods in our region, the market will be open on the second and fourth Saturday of January, February, March and the second Saturday in April.

Piedmont Farmers Market will kick off its regular season on April 24 following the Cabarrus County Herb and Plant Festival on April 17.

Now in its fifth year, the Herb Festival is an ongoing project of the Cabarrus County Master Gardener Volunteer Association.

Poll
What do you think of the legislature putting parts of Rowan County in three different congressional districts and two state Senate districts?
  • I like it; Rowan will have more members of Congress and the state Senate
  • I don't like it; it's hard enough to figure out who my congressman is
  • I don't care about politics, so it makes no difference to me
