Through an assemblage of photographs, paintings and mixed media works, seven contemporary artists express their personal relationships to their faiths, including Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Christianity.
There will be an opening reception Friday, Nov. 30. Informal gallery talks with the artists begin at 5 p.m., followed by the reception from 6-8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Also appearing on the program will be the Lenoir-Rhyne University Brass Ensemble and Handbell Ensemble.
These concerts are free but due to their popularity, those wishing to attend are encouraged to arrive early.
This year's theme is "Let There Be Light." The climax to the program will be the candle lighting ceremony, ending with all joining in the favorite carol, "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing."
WINSTON-SALEM - The Carolina Chamber Symphony Players is presenting "Swingle Bells" two times this year: on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. at the James A. Gray, Jr. Auditorium inside the Old Salem Visitor Center. The concert features vocalist Martha Bassett with the Giannini Brass and the Jazzmas Trio.
Musical selections for Swingle Bells will include "Sleigh Ride," "Let it Snow," "The Christmas Song," "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch" and "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."
