Amtrak exhibit train comes to Spencer

SPENCER — In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Amtrak, a unique traveling exhibit train showcasing the railroad’s history comes to Spencer.
From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 17 -18, the exhibit showcases Amtrak history over the decades, displaying memorabilia such as vintage advertising, past menus and dinnerware, and period uniforms.
There will be train-themed kids’ activities at Chuggington Depot, based on the popular children’s television series on Disney Junior.
There will be shuttle service between Salisbury train station and the museum. Pick up times are • To the N.C. Transportation Museum departing from the Salisbury Depot: 9:08 a.m., 12:41, 2:08 p.m. • To the Salisbury Depot departing from the N.C. Transportation Museum: 12:15, 1:30, 5 p.m.
