Woman arrested on felony charges

GRANITE QUARRY — Rowan County deputies found a Salisbury woman on Christmas Day wanted on felony breaking and entering charges and felony identity theft.

According to arrest warrants, Ashley Lynn Bynum, 6630 Lowder Road, was arrested in the 200-block of English Street in Granite Quarry about 2 p.m.

Authorities believe Bynum broke into a Kannapolis man’s storage unit in October and stole more than $1,000 in power tools.

She initially got the attention of Granite Quarry-Faith Police in September.

Arrest reports say the 24-year-old stole cosmetic supplies from Fred’s Store in Granite Quarry.

Police believe the woman took brush-on nail glue, Broadway Fashion Diva Nails, Edge 24 Nails and other assorted cosmetics.

During the investigation, the report said, Bynum gave officers a fake name and a false North Carolina driver’s license.

About a month later, Kannapolis Police officers obtained arrest warrants for Bynum after they said she broke into a Kannapolis man’s storage building at 720 Deaton Ave.

The report said $1,095 worth of power saws, grinders and other tools were taken from the building.

Bynum was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony identity theft and misdemeanor shoplifting.

She was given an $11,000 bond and was in jail this morning.
