Two Cleveland residents face heroin charges
CLEVELAND - Two people from Cleveland were arrested Nov. 19 by the Iredell County Sheriff's Office after a lengthy investigation of heroin distribution in Iredell County by the narcotics unit.
Edward Daniel Patchett, 42, of Cedar Glenn Circle, and Brianna Helene Barry, 23, of Jessie Drive were charged.
According to the sheriff's office, narcotics detectives learned that Patchett was involved in a heroin distribution operation which involved selling heroin to people in different locations in the Statesville area. The detectives were able to make undercover drug deals with Patchett. During the investigation, Barry was also implicated.
Narcotics detectives were able to buy a total of 7 grams (.25 ounces) of heroin from Patchett and Barry, according to the report. The street vale of the undercover buys is $14,000. More arrests are expected.
Patchett and Barry were both charged with one count of trafficking Schedule I (heroin) by sale; one count of trafficking Schedule I by possession; and one count of trafficking Schedule I by transport.
Patchett is in the Iredell County Detention Center under $200,000 bond, and Barry under $253,000 bond.
