SALISBURY — Deputies found a woman and her boyfriend hiding in the bathroom of their Ed Weaver Road home Saturday morning.

Three Rowan County officers went to the home to serve a warrant for larceny on Clint Brown about 9 a.m.

After knocking at the front and rear doors of the house, the deputies broke into the home and found the bedroom door locked.

They forced the door open and found Brown, 30, and his girlfriend, Barbara Nicole Howard, 32, in the bathroom, an arrest report said.

After deputies took Brown into custody, the couple began yelling at each other.

Officers said they took Howard into custody after she indicated to deputies that the two hid from officers.

Before being arrested, Howard ran back into the bedroom and attempted to lock herself in the bathroom but was placed in handcuffs.

While being taken to the car, she also kicked a deputy twice in the legs, according to the report.

She was charged with resisting, obstructing or delaying a public officer and assault on a law enforcement officer.

Brown was charged with misdemeanor larceny.

They were both released after posting $1,000 bonds.
