SALISBURY — A 34-year-old man nearly collided with a Salisbury officer on West Innes Street Sunday morning when he swerved into the officer’s lane.

Police report he later blew a .25 blood alcohol level, more than three times the legal limit.

Salisbury Police said Cesar Garcia, of 601 Laurel Pointe Circle, was immediately stopped and arrested.

An arrest report said Garcia crossed the center line in the 900 block of West Innes Street at 8:09 a.m. Sunday.

Garcia’s white 1994 Honda Accord narrowly missed Lt. T.L. Wilsey’s police car, forcing him off the road. The report said Wilsey’s vehicle then almost hit a power pole.

Garcia was held overnight, but later paid bond and was released.

He was charged with driving while impaired and driving left of center.
