Schafter Alford Wedding
KANNAPOLIS — Bebbyn Alayne Schafer and Zachary Webb Alford of Columbia, S.C., were united in marriage Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Cabaniss officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Cabarrus Country Club.
The bride was escorted by her father, Phillip Schafer, and attended by Ashley Goodridge of Abilene, Tex., as maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were sister of the groom Meredith Alford of Concord; and friends of the bride Ginger Ervin of Columbia, Adrian Carlson of Charlotte and Jessica Lovelace of Columbia.
Benjamin Alford of Kannapolis stood as his brother’s best man. Serving as groomsmen were John Garver of Goldsboro, Harper Lovelace of Columbia, Gray Wallington of Lexington, S.C., Walter Constantine of Atlanta, Ga., Barry Christenson of Concord, Shelton Schafer of North Billerica, Mass., and Cullen Schaer of Richlands.
Program attendant was Virginia Hall Puhlasky, and guest registrar was Margaret Powers Strickland, both of Columbia.
The bride is the daughter of Phillip L. and Kimberly M. Schafer of Keeseville, N.Y., and the granddaughter of Mrs. Frederick Phillip Schafer III and the late Mr. Frederick Phillip Schafer III of Greenwich, N.Y., and the late Mr. and Mrs. George David Morris Sr., of Scotia, N.Y. A 2002 graduate of Ausable Valley High School, Bebbyn received a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina in 2008. She is a Critical Care Pharmacist at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia.
The groom is the son of Julia W. and the late Floyd S. Alford Jr. of Kannapolis and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Webb of Statesville and the late Mr. and Mrs. F. Shelby Alford of Raleigh. A 1999 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Zachary received a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C., in 2003. He is an Account Manager at Ricoh Legal in Columbia.
Following a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will make their home in Columbia.
