Faithful Friends Animal Sanctuary has several activities planned during the holidays.Angel trees: Ornaments listing items from their Wish List are on these Christmas trees. Monetary donations can be placed in the pre-addressed envelopes under the trees. Locations: Looking Glass Artists Collective, 405 N. Lee St.; Outback Steakhouse, Stitchin' Post and Uptown Dogs and Cats at its new location on Statesville Boulevard. The trees will be in place until Dec. 20.
Bake sale: Saturday, Dec. 5, in front of the Stitchin' Post.
Christmas barbeque: The chefs for charity at the VA Medical Center have chosen Faithful Friends as the recipient of their barbequed cuisine again this year. You can order a whole chicken for $20, a whole turkey breast for $30, or a whole Boston butt for $30. They are hickory smoked and come with buns and dip. All orders must be in and paid for in by Dec. 11. You can pick up your order from 4 to 6 p.m. at the VFW on Brenner Avenue on Dec. 24. General meeting: Monday, Dec. 7. Rowan County Public Library, 7 p.m. Dr. Cara Kluttz will speak about pet behavior. All are welcome.
