New recruiter assigned to local area

Staff Sgt. Stanczak of Fort Wayne, Ind., was recently assigned as the new recruiting representative for the U.S. Air Force for Salisbury. Stanczak will be responsible for Rowan, Davie and Davidson counties, which includes Salisbury, Denton and Lexington.

Stanczak has served in the Air Force for seven years as a biomedical equipment technician, most recently at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Morrison completes Basic Training

Army National Guard Pfc. Clinton T. Morrison has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat and field maneuvers and tactics.

The son of Jeff and Karen Morrison of Goneaway Lane, Cleveland, he is a 2009 graduate of South Iredell High School in Troutman.
