Staff report

The Salisbury Police Department will partner with Gerry Wood Auto Center for the sixth year to provide bicycles for less-fortunate children in the city of Salisbury.

The Woods will provide the bikes and the police department will be responsible for identifying the children in need of help and delivering the bicycles to those children. In order to be considered for a bicycle, parents or guardians must complete an application and turn it in to the Salisbury Police Department no later than 5 p.m. Dec. 5. Applications are available at the Police Department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or online at www.salisburyncpd.org.

The department asks that people not apply for bicycles if their children have received bicycles from this program in the past. There are a limited number of bicycles available and the department tries to reach the households that have not been helped in the past.

Applications that do not contain the requested information will be disqualified.

For more information, contact the department at 704-638-5333.
