Blotter: Woman with several aliases charged with larceny

An East Spencer woman with at least three aliases was charged with larceny after concealing merchandise from Magic Mart. A Spencer teen was also charged with taking items in the same incident.

A Magic Mart employee reported Nov. 11 two shoplifters at 725 S. Jake Alexander Blvd. The woman took items valued at $45.94 and the teenager took items valued at $42.93.

Charisse Michelle Shavers, 36, 511 Correll St., East Spencer, was charged in this incident with misdemeanor larceny and resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer. Desmon Jermaine Torrence, 17, of 111 N. Rowan Ave., Spencer, was charged with misdemeanor larceny.In other Salisbury Police Department reports:

- Wal-Mart reported Nov. 11 an employee took cigarettes from the store. Terry Franklin Reed, 48, 109 Wilson Road, was charged with six counts of larceny. He was held under $200 secured bond and his court date is set for Jan. 29. 2008.

- Winfred Mention reported Nov. 11 a fraud and identity theft at 407 Park Ave. Someone used his son's name, William Lamonte Denny, to get cable television.

- Alice Pendleton of Kimbrells Home Furnishings Inc. reported on Nov. 11 someone attempted to buy merchandise with a fraudulent check.

- Kohl's Department store reported Nov. 11 that loss prevention had detained Tania Johana Majano Giron for shoplifting. Giron was charged with larceny.

- Rebecca Rodgers of Kohl's Department store reported on Nov. 11 a woman concealing store merchandise.

Anna Christina Mejia, 25, of 1117 Fries St., was charged with misdemeanor larceny of $268.99 worth of items.

- Alice Smyre Johnson reported Nov. 12 someone used her Social Security number to obtain employment.

- Wilco-Hess at 500 E. Innes St. reported Nov. 13 the building was damaged by an unknown person.

- Shenica Deon Hill reported on Nov. 13 at 816 N. Green St. vandals spray-painted the side of her house.

- Mary Hamilton Craig reported on Nov. 13 at 826 N. Main St. that someone entered unlocked vehicles.

- Teresa Gail Parson Jones reported on Nov. 13 that someone took items from her vehicle at 1957 W. Jake Alexander Blvd.

- Dante Marquies Mitchell, 18, of 804 Second St., Spencer, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on penal institute premises and failure to appear. Mitchell turned himself into authorities on the failure to appear charge. Officers found 1.1 grams of marijuana in a front pocket. He was placed in the jail under $2,500 secured bond. His trial date is set for Dec. 10.

- Sonja Shaw, 45, of 429 N. Ellis St., was charged on Nov. 13 with shoplifting three packs of steaks from Food Lion at 525 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. She put the items, which were valued at $46.48 in her purse and walked out of the store.

- Penny Ann Witherspoon reported on Nov. 13 someone stole her prescription from her house at 1026 E. Layfayette St. before she could have it filled.

- Tamekia Antonet Hasty reported on Nov. 13 someone broke her second-story window with a battery at 410 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Police found two criminal summons on Hasty, 24, and charged her with misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property.

- Earl Hewitt Moore reported on Nov. 13 at 1935 W. Jake Alexander Blvd. some damaged a window and took a stereo from a vehicle.

- Rushco No. 2 at 2480 Statesville Blvd. was robbed by an unknown offender on Nov. 13.

- Stop & Go Food store reported on Nov. 14 the glass on the front door of the business was vandalized at 530 W. Cemetery St.

- Jeffrey Alan Modlin, 30, of 228 Milford Drive, was charged with felony common law robbery, felony aggravated assault of a handicapped person and misdemeanor unauthorized use of motor vehicle. Police spotted Modlin walking. He ran, but soon gave up. Warrants were issued for the previous charges of assault and robbery.

- Anthony Ryan Bognuda, 30, of 2670 Dunn's Mountain Road, was charged on Nov. 13 at 699 W. Kerr St. with misdemeanor resisting, obstructing and delaying a public officer when he ran from police. He was also charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, marijuana.

- Alisha Dawn Dailey, 24, of 2670 Dunn's Mountain Road, was charged on Nov. 13 with assault on a government official.
