Staff reportInvestigators have not been able to determine the cause of a fire that burned a barn Sunday.
The two-story wood structure was owned by Sara Foster Beaver, 7500 Brancy St., Kannapolis. The area is off Unity Church Road in the Atwell community.
Deborah Horne, an investigator with the Rowan Fire Marshal's office, said it appears there was no electricity to the structure.
A neighbor reported seeing two vehicles in the area a short time before the fire.
The barn contained assorted items including beds, a sofa and tool boxes.
Horne said the fire may have been an accident but was likely caused by human activity.
