The training is for people who would like to help others improve their reading skills or teach English as a Second Language to foreign-born residents.
Tutors completing the 13-hour course were Latisha Feamster, Sandi Hache-Tejada, Erica Ibanez, Michelle Maher and Pam Safrit.
The Literacy Council offers tutoring services to any adult 16 and older. Anyone wanting to register for the next workshop or to receive tutoring help should call the Literacy Office at 704-216-8266.
Rowan County Literacy Council is a United Way agency.
