North Marching Band receives seven awards at South Rowan Band ContestThe North Rowan High School Band had a banner day at the first South Rowan High School Band Contest on Oct. 31.
Under the direction of Keith, Andrew and Tyler Howe, the Marching Cavs competed in class 4A and received seven awards:
- 1st Place, Band 4A (Superior Rating);
- 1st Place, Music 4A (Superior Rating);
- 1st Place, Marching 4A (Superior Rating);
- 1st Place, General Effect 4A (Superior Rating);
- 1st Place, Drum Major 4A (Superior Rating);
- 2nd Place, Colorguard 4A (Superior Rating); and
- 2nd Place, Percussion 4A (Excellent Rating).
The band's next contest performance will at the North Davidson High School Band Festival on Saturday. North area parents, students and alumni are invited to attend and support the band.
