The Humane Society of Rowan County will host its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser Saturday.
The event will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at VFW Post No. 3006, 1200 Brenner Ave.
Tickets, which can be purchased in advance, are $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Tickets can also be bought at the door Saturday.
The meal includes spaghetti with meat or meatless sauce, salad, garlic bread, dessert and tea. Dine-in or carry-out is available, and volunteers will deliver five or more meals to a workplace, said Jane Hartness, president of the Humane Society.
A drawing will be held for two $25 gas cards and two cat portraits painted by East Rowan High School student Cassie Strobel.
Strobel is completing her senior project with the Humane Society and painted the portraits of Bogart and Harley, two cats awaiting permanent homes, Hartness said.
As with all Humane Society events, pet food donations will be accepted at the spaghetti dinner and later disbursed to families in need of assistance.
Hartness said plans are being made for a Thanksgiving season pet food drive.
Business managers willing to offer their premises as drop-off sites are asked to call the Humane Society.
To buy tickets for the spaghetti dinner in advance or volunteer to be a drop-off site, call 704-636-5700.
