All David Barringer wanted to do today was vote. Too bad he already did.
The Faith resident went to vote this morning and was told he'd already voted three weeks earlier.
He's unsure of the circumstances, but believes either someone fraudulently used his name to vote or it was human error.
"I would like to find out who did this. It's scary in a way that someone would use your address to vote for you," he said.
In order for him to still vote, Barringer had to fill out a provisional ballot that was then sealed.
Another theory is that another David Barringer gave his name and information and the person who worked at the polls accidentally keyed in the wrong Barringer.
An investigation will be done to determine exactly what happened, said Board of Elections Director Nancy Evans.
The state does not require a potential voter to show identification. The poll worker asks for birth date or an address.
David Barringer of Faith is now wondering if his vote will count.
See Wednesday's Post for more details.

Was ACORN active in the Faith area? Obama paid them $800,000 as they fruadullently registered voters. Was ACORN involved in voting for the man in Faith? it would not surprise me. We need voter ID. Democrats don't like voter ID because it cuts down on fraudulent voting. ACORN is being investigated in over a dozen states. I know they have been active in NC, but not sure about Faith.

Obama did require compulsary service : Wednesday, November 19, 2008 4:32 PM
Initially, Obama did require compulary community service from middle school andhigh school students, but because of the loud public outcry about that violation of our rights, he then changed it to a "goal" and eliminated the required part. we still know what he really wants - required community service - which he will not a huge army to enforce. Conservatives assuming and grasping at straws again! : Wednesday, November 19, 2008 12:10 PM
Your comments are amusing! I don't know what is more frightening, your conservative views, your ignorance or the fact that you are allowed to pro-create. I assure you that I was born in Salisbury, raised in Salisbury and probably more redneck and white than you. I have a S.S. number (issued at birth), two white parents, a valid US passport and a valid visa to be in Mexico. Why would I want to be here? Utilities are a quarter of what I pay in Salisbury. The exchange rate is 13.45, meaning that I more than double my money! The more the dollar decreases in value in the US, the more it increases here; keep up the good work. I find it quite ironic that in a predominantly Catholic country, it is more accepting and tolerant than the mixture of religions in the US. Mexico may have it's problems, so does every other country in the world! You don't have to look far to find an American company or franchise here either. McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Starbucks, GM, PPG, Coke, Pepsi, Wal-Mart and even the long forgotten Woolworths to name a few. I am certain you would find it absurd to know that John Deer has donated thousands of tractors and farm equipment to Mexico's citizens and I won't even go into the thousands of computers donated to Mexico from a certain computer company! I beg your pardon conservative republican, I have extensively studied Obama's votes regarding guns. I, along with others can comprehend his views and his reasons for voting the way he did. However, I find that the state of the economy is a much bigger issue than guns. Your gun will not get you (or keep you in) a job. It will not pay for the gas to get to your job. The only thing it can do is kill food to put on your table when you can't afford to feed your family any longer. This gun argument is totally asinine compared to the other issues facing the nation right now! Joe, thanks for the link. It states the same thing that I posted from barackobama.com on education. I have yet to see anything that states he is coming to get your guns though. When you find that link let me know, I'll check it out too! Happy Thanksgiving!

Keith Oberman does illustrate stupidity whether you consider it a consitutional right or a privilege. He is one of the tunnel vision political hacks that masquaredes as a journalist. MSNBC will have to drastically change their propaganda broadcast if the so called fairness doctrine is brought back. MSNBC is the propoganda machine for the Democrat party. MSNBC could teach the Nazi regime under Hitler or the Kremlin propogandist some good lessons on lying about and distorting the truth about one's opponent. If the unfairness doctrin is brought back, Limbaugh, Hannity, and others will get free time on MSNBC to balance the lies told by Oberman. The problem you liberal socialists have with Limbaugh is that he has you pegged to a "T". Air American and that silly Al Franken were funded by the radical left to counter Limbaugh, but the general public did not believe the lies and distortion that were vomited up, and they went bankrupt. Is Stupidity a Constitutional Right? Or just a Privilege? : Sunday, November 16, 2008 10:45 AM
Keep Fighting, I think Stupidity on the scale of those you named is actually a privilege enjoyed by only a few. What they're mad about is the 'Fairness Doctrine' which was dropped during the Reagan Administration. It is about to be renewed, requiring those who lease PUBLIC airwaves to practice their free speech to allow equal time to opposing views. Thus, the stations who profit handsomely from a daily 3-hours of Rush Limbo will have to permit anyone with an opposing view who asks to have equal time as Rush. Only their sponsors may not be as eager to pay for someone else's mindless rants, so the station would have to air it without sponsors. The fear among the Far Reicht is that smaller stations would prefer to 'flush Rush' rather than take on that burden. It is NOT a Constitutional denial of free speech. Rush can still rant to his heart's content. His advertisers may just have to pay more, in order to allow free time to opposing views. I'll compare it to Rush's view on abortion: there is a Constitutionally recognized 'right' for a woman to have an abortion under Roe v. Wade, but there is no requirement that the taxpayers pay for her to exercise that right. Same thing applies to Rush with free speech. It's Rush's privilege to be as stupid as he pleases. And if listeners don't like the equal time rebuttal, I've seen an "off" switch on every radio I've ever owned.

That was not a prediction, that came from his advisors. However, they miscalculated on their time frame to get these bill to stick. The deadline was May 15th. Whatever he tries to do at this point can be easily undone. You would think that someone that has been President for the last 8 years would have already known the deadline date (not to mention his advisors that were pushing him to hurry up and sign everything he could)! I think that the latest story in the Salisbury Post about the 21 year old shooting into a jeep (with a child in it) would be a great arguement for better gun control! The police (which would be the one's coming around to collect your guns) have enough to do, collecting guns is not going to happen....unless you are an irresponsible gun owner and commit a crime with the one/ones you own.
