Staff report
GRANITE QUARRY — Residents in Granite Quarry will be going to the polls to cast their votes for or against the county's proposed quarter-cent sales tax hike and little else, unless they want to affirm their support for two incumbents or voice dissent with write-in choices.
Two seats are up for election on the town's Board of Aldermen, but the only people who filed to run for them are the people who hold them now.
Brad Kluttz and Eloise Peeler are seeking new four-year terms on the board. The other three seats on the board come up for election on 2011.
Kluttz and Peeler, both lifelong Granite Quarry residents, are completing their first terms.
Kluttz is a production manager at Supply One Rockwell.
Peeler retired from Catawba College as an administrative assistant to the president after 39 years.
