Staff report

A Kannapolis woman was taken into custody Tuesday on charges including the alleged theft of a checkbook and driver's license from a Rockwell minister.

According to the arrest warrant, Amy Marie Love, 25, of 424 Wilkison St., is charged with breaking into Immanuel Lutheran Church on Sept. 26 and stealing a checkbook belonging to pastor Bruce Sheeks and his wife, Kim.

A driver's license was also reportedly stolen, but no identity was given.

Love is charged with two counts of felony burglary and one count of conspiracy to defraud Bruce Sheeks.

It was unclear whether Love actually succeeded in using the checks.

The second burglary count involves a separate break-in which allegedly occurred in a Kannapolis home.

Love is charged with stealing a .22-caliber rifle and a strong box, a total value of $240.

She was being held Thursday at the Rowan County Detention Center under $5,000 bond.
