Lutheran Home at Trinity Oaks and Volunteer Catawba, along with supporting members of the community, are preparing for the fourth annual Harvest Moon Ball. The event will take place on Oct. 23 at the home.

This year's theme is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

The prom style event has become one of the largest annual events at Lutheran Home. In order to offer every interested resident an opportunity to attend dressed their finest, a call is going out for formal wear.

Formal gowns and after five dresses are need for the ladies; suit coats and tuxedos for the gentlemen.

Accessories such as jewelry, bow ties, and dress shirts are also needed. Items are needed no later than Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Anyone interest in contributing garments for the event is asked to call Brenda Zimmerman at 704-637-3784 (ext. 739) for additional information.

Poll
What do you think of the legislature putting parts of Rowan County in three different congressional districts and two state Senate districts?
  • I like it; Rowan will have more members of Congress and the state Senate
  • I don't like it; it's hard enough to figure out who my congressman is
  • I don't care about politics, so it makes no difference to me
