Mother, son arrested on drug charges

SPENCER — A mother and son face drug charges after detectives investigated complaints about illegal drug transactions taking place at their home.

According to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office, detectives searched the house at 611 Fifth St. Friday morning and found 55 Ecstacy (MDNA) pills, about 2 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, a 9 mm handgun and more than $2,000 in cash.

Angela Walker White, 39, faces three charges — possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; maintaining a dwelling to keep, store and/or sell a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Antonio Darnell Walker, 24, also faces three charges: possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; possession with intent to sell and deliver Ecstacy; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both mother and son are being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.

The search warrant was executed by the Sheriff's Office's Special Response Team.
