Blotter: Copper wire theft

Copper wire valued at $1,450 was stolen from a Rockwell business, according to the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.

Timothy Scott Benton of Elberton, Ga., reported the theft occurred the night of Sept. 30 from Carolina Quarries, 280 Comolli Road, Rockwell.

In other Sheriff's Office reports:

- Angel Mae Vanderburg, 1580 Pine Ridge Road, China Grove, reported vandals cut two tires each on a car and truck parked at her home between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1. Damage totaled $400.

- Trevor John Reynolds, 1165 Hidden Circle, reported items valued at $685 stolen from two vehicles parked at his home the night of Sept. 30.

- Jessica Marie Payne, 109 Blackwelder St., Kannapolis, reported a $550 shotgun stolen from her home between Sept. 6 and 27.

- Gayle Wilhelm, 116 Newell Ave., Kannapolis, reported Oct. 1 that personal checks stolen from her home between Sept. 4 and Oct. 1 had been forged and passed.

- Annette M. Buelin, 1280 Wyatt Grove Church Road, Richfield, reported vandals caused $350 damage to her vehicle while it was parked at her home the night of Sept. 30.

- Sarah Amy Toledo of Salisbury reported Oct. 1 that she had been a victim of a check fraud between Sept. 20 and Oct. 1 in which she lost $7,000.

- Two masked suspects tried to take money from the cash registers at Dollar General, 2112 Mooresville Road, just before 9 p.m. Oct. 1.

- Kimberly Michelle Devries, 37, was charged Oct. 1 with simple assault based on a complaint by Jeremy Ryan Devries at 2666 Wyoming Drive, Kannapolis.

- Allen Brent Carlisle, 1046 Lenwood Lane, Kannapolis, reported items valued at $814 were stolen during an Oct. 1 burglary at his home.

- Joshua Wayne Eldreth, 20, was charged Oct. 1 with communicating threats at 140 Tarbox Lane.

- Megan Renee Swain, 21, was charged Oct. 1 with misdemeanor possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.

- Karrie Safrit Blanton, 35, was charged Oct. 1 with communicating threats.

- Robin Marie Taylor, 39, was charged Oct. 2 with assault on a government official, disorderly conduct and resisting a public official at 1099 Jade St., Woodleaf.

- James Keith Martin reported Oct. 2 that someone had written a check on a closed bank account to MJM Golf Cars, 1320 Litton Drive, on July 28. The $7,365.75 check was for two golf cars, which have not been returned.

- Lisa Bradshaw Brown of Bradshaw's Auto Sales, 5785 S. Main St., reported Oct. 2 that a $25 tow hitch was stolen from a repossessed car.

- Micheal Reed Steinour, 3020 South River Church Road, Woodleaf, reported $2,850 worth of guns, money and jewelry stolen during an Oct. 2 burglary at his home.

- Frankie I. Johns of Rockwell reported Oct. 2 that nine stolen checks had been forged and uttered between July 29 and Aug. 5.

- Stanley Peeler Jr., 19, was charged Oct. 3 with assault on a government official at 835 Sides Road.

- Randall Jerome Thornsbury, 24, was charged Oct. 3 with felony breaking and entering a building. He is accused of stealing $2,670 worth of tools and fishing equipment from Frances Sipes Boger's storage building at 130 Sweetbriar Circle.

- David Gordon Edwards, 21, was charged Oct. 2 with felony breaking and entering a building.

- Cheryle Lynn Sigmon-Klein, 48, was charged Oct. 2 with misdemeanor larceny.

- Terry Delane Oxendine, 49, was charged Oct. 2 with assault on a female.

- Robin Marie Taylor, 39, was charged Oct. 2 with resisting, delaying and obstructing a public officer at 1099 Jade St.

- Louise Rogers, 53, was charged Oct. 2 with assault by pointing a gun at 1191 Old Oak Lane, Woodleaf.

- James Richard Jackson, 40, was charged Oct. 2 with communicating threats at 680 Arant Road, China Grove.

- Anita Karen Asher, 47, was charged Oct. 3 with domestic criminal trespassing at 2329 N. U.S. 29.
