KANNAPOLIS — The actor who plays the father in "All About Dad" will introduce the movie at 7 p.m. today at the Gem Theatre in Kannapolis.

Chi Pham also will take questions from the audience after the 80-minute film.

"All About Dad" is part of the Modern Film Fest underway in Kannapolis.

Pham flew in unexpectedly Friday for the inaugural film festival and attended a gala Saturday night at Restaurant 46.

Critics have praised his performance in "All About Dad," a movie about a Vietnamese father's struggle with his Americanized children. It was his first role.

The film won the Audience Favorite Choice Award at the San Jose Film Festival and the Jury Prize for Outstanding First Film, Narrative at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.

The three-day Modern Film Fest ends today. Screenings begin at 1 p.m. and tickets cost $4. To see the film schedule, go to www.modernfilmfest.net.
