Fire damages Village Jewelry in Cloverleaf Plaza

KANNAPOLIS – On Wednesday at 12:40 a.m., Kannapolis Fire Department responded to a fire at 867 Cloverleaf Plaza.

"Upon entry we encountered heavy smoke and heat." said Captain Jerry Morgan.

Kannapolis Fire Department responded with multiple units. Concord, Landis and Odell fire departments assisted on the scene, as well as, Cabarrus County EMS. China Grove Fire Department, Cold Water Fire Department and Enochville Fire & Rescue provided district coverage.

"The fire damage was confined to the building of origin," said Division Chief Randall Faggart.

After investigation the cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical malfunction in the show room area.
