Blotter: $2,300 worth of tools stolen

Country Log Homes on Gold Hill Road reported the theft of more than $2,300 in tools.

The Rowan County Sheriff's Office reported the theft occurred sometime on Friday, Sept. 11, at 1275 High Rock Road, Gold Hill.

The item which were taken from a building included an electric motor, a Lincoln welder, a Milwaukee hammer drill, laser level and two jet heaters.

Other incidents or charges reported on Sept. 11:

- Scott Thomas Register, reported a break in at his home at 101 Hickory Wood Drive, Kannapolis.

Thieves broke through the back door and took two large-screen Sony TVs valued at $1,900. The theft occurred between Sept. 4 and Sept. 11.

- America Hendren of 178 Village Creek Way, reported the theft of a Dell computer and software valued at $3,000 from her residence between Sept. 7 and Sept. 11.

Other incidents or charges reported on Sept. 12:

- Deputies charged Joseph Wayne Torrence, 22, of 314 Yost Road, with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies initially responded to a call that three small children, ages 1 to 3, were playing in the road. Deputies found the father asleep and marijuana smoking devices in the residence.

- Robert Dale Whitson of Walter Drive reported the theft of two dirt bikes from 101 Sir Oliver Place, Rockwell. The bikes are valued at $2,200. One of the bikes was a blue and white Yamaha YZ85.
