RCCC announces sponsorship

The Rowan-Cabarrus Community College Early Childhood Center announces the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Children at the center whose families are eligible to receive free benefits will receive the same meals as other children in the center at no separate charge.

Children who are Temporary Assistance for Needy Families recipients or who are members of food stamp or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations households or are Head Start participants are automatically eligible to receive free meal benefits.

In accordance with federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, RCCC is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

RCCC's Early Childhood Center is a state accredited five-star day-care program for children 2-5 years old. The program offers educational, social and physical development under the guidance of professionally trained staff in a safe and stimulating environment. The center is on RCCC's North Campus in Salisbury.

The center is accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and is open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tuition rates are $125 per week for 2-year-olds and $120 for 3-, 4- and 5-year olds. The center accepts vouchers from the Department of Social Services, Smart Start Rowan Scholarship Program and Child Care Grants as tuition payments.
