Salisbury police arrest man in downtown break-in
E-mail to a friendStaff report A Salisbury man has been charged with breaking into a downtown business and a vehicle. James Edward Stroy, 46, of 226 N. Long St., is charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle and misdemeanor larceny. Officers responded Saturday to a break-in at OK Wig at the corner of West Innes and South Main streets. A witness reported seeing the suspect sitting near the shop door. The witness then saw the suspect leave a bag near the side door of the business, a report said. The witness told police the suspect appeared to be trying to reach his hand through a glass door while sitting in front of the door. When officers checked the shop, they noticed a portion of the glass door broken. The suspect also had blood on his arm, possibly from the broken glass, the police report said. Police located a bag with stolen items that belonged to a woman who lives on South Jackson Street. A report said the car break-in occurred sometime between Monday and Sunday. Officers recovered the bag containing a crow bar, several DVDs, a couple of cell phones, jewelry, phone cards and a flashlight, among other items. Stroy remained in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond Monday. The investigation continues. What do you think? Post your comment below. Comments

What Jesus said and our law says : Wednesday, August 06, 2008 11:01 AM If the source is the King James Bible, Jesus said, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." If the source is the law, A man is innocent until proven guilty. Judging by the picture in the Post, Mr. Story could possibly be suffering from some kind of brain injury, perhaps from drugs/alcohol, or just as likely from an attack or accident or even from surgery. My adult, very light-skinned, blond-haired, 90-lb. daughter, top of her class in grade school, honor society, straight A's at NC State and A's at Chapel Hill, suffered brain injury (jaw and teeth also) when she fainted in our local library. Afterward, she did some really bizarre things, including stealing, unaware of what she was doing or saying much of the time. She wears a cross around her neck, and if you took a picture of her after her injury, she would have an expression similar to that of Mr. Story's. Would you, without knowing the circumstances, judge her and wish her in prison?
Report AbuseIs that GOD's cross on his necklace? : Tuesday, August 05, 2008 12:09 PM Has anyone noticed the cross on his necklace? I wonder what GOD he worships? My GOD says "Thy shall not steal". Does he think that by wearing a cross on his chest GOD will forgive him? Wow, what nerve people have committing crimes and then saying that GOD is in their hearts. That sure isn't how I was brought up!! GOD be with this man and help him in anyway possible. He sure looks like he can use all the help he can get!! LOL!!!!
Report AbuseCan he even keep his eyes open : Tuesday, August 05, 2008 10:24 AM Boy, this suspect is not with it. He looks like he can barely keep his eyes open. Now, do we need thugs like this roaming our city. Put him in prison so he will open his eyes and put him on the work release to pay back the items he stole. He will do it again and he probably has a record. First, we need to find out where he is getting his drugs because this man is surely on drugs or alcohol.
