R3 Center holding career workshops

The R3 Center is offering free career development workshops and resume clinics in July for adults in Cabarrus and Rowan counties.

Located at 164 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. in Kannapolis, the R3 Center is a career development center established by Rowan-Cabarrus Community College to assist workers who are unemployed or under-employed.

Those interested in attending the following free workshops are encouraged to reserve a seat in advance.

- New Client Mondays, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 14, 21 and 28. For those who have never attended an R3 Center workshop or taken advantage of its other services.

- Looking for Work at Age 50+, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 8 and 31.

- Looking for Work with a Criminal Record, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 9.

- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, 9:30 a.m. July 10.

- From Career Readiness Certification to Employment, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 16.

- What NOT to Wear: Interview Fashion, 9:30 a.m. July 17.

- The ABCs of Computer Usage, 1-3 p.m. July 18.

- Hot Training for Cool Careers — HVAC-R Careers, 3:30 p.m. July 22, RCCC North Campus in Salisbury, reservation required.

- Lay-Off Survival Tips, 8:30 a.m. July 24.

- Careers in Motorsports, 3:30 p.m. July 24, RCCC North Campus in Salisbury, reservation required.

- Job Application Assistance Lab, 2 p.m. July 25.

- Stand Out from the Competition, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. June 24.

- Is It Time for More Training? 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 29.

- Top Jobs for Your Personality, 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 30.

The R3 Center also will offer free resume clinics to help job searchers improve their current resume or create a new one from scratch. The resume clinic schedule includes day, evening and Saturday sessions.

Clinics will be offered at 2 p.m. July 11, 9 a.m. July 19 and 9:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. July 23.
