Rocky Gregg
Air Force Reserve Airman Rocky L. Gregg graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Roger Gregg of China Grove and brother of Amber Gregg of Kannapolis.
Gregg is a 2006 graduate of Jay M. Robinson High School, Concord.
Deanna Sommerville
Army Pfc. Deanna D Sommerville has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, she studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
She is the daughter of Dennis Sommerville of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tracie Sommerville of Spencer.
The private is a 2007 graduate of North Rowan High School, Spencer.
Johnathan Cromwell
Air Force Airman Johnathan B. Cromwell graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.

He is the son of Richard Cromwell and Patricia Polk both of Salisbury.
Cromwell is a 2002 graduate of West Rowan High School.
James Mullis
Air National Guard Airman 1st Class James F. Mullis graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Tommy and Charlie Mullis of Salisbury.
Mullis is a 2006 graduate of West Rowan High School, Mount Ulla.
Jess C. Knight
Army National Guard Pvt. Jess C. Knight has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.
Knight is a 2008 graduate of East Rowan High School.
