Staff report
CHINA GROVE — A second China Grove man has been charged with the attempted murder of a Kannapolis man.
Sunday night, China Grove Police charged Michael Angelo Bost, 23, of 646 Harry St., with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.
On June 19, police charged DeJuan Adkins, 23, of 709 Harry St., with attempted first-degree murder.
According to police, Dewthey Walker, of Kannapolis, was in the Westside section of China Grove June 19 and was apparently involved in an argument or fight with a woman.
Two men intervened, resulting in the assault. Reports have varied, indicating that Walker was beaten badly or was shot. He was hospitalized at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
Police initially charged Dolan Allison of 608 Harry St., but later dropped the charges after they determined a witness identification was incorrect.
Police subsequently issued a warrant for Bost, who was picked up by Kannapolis police Sunday evening on charges of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine and possession of marijuana.
Police seized 4.4 grams of cocaine.
His first appearance in Rowan County District Court is Tuesday. His bond on the drug charges was set at $5,000 and $250,000 on the attempted murder charge.
