A male suspect filled a shopping basket with $525.79 worth of medication at a local pharmacy and then left without paying for it, according to the Salisbury Police Department.

The shoplifting occurred June 30 at CVS, 1702 E. Innes St. The stolen medication included 17 boxes of Zyrtec and four bottles of Robitussin.

In other Police Department reports:

- Someone broke into a Shulenburger Surveying vehicle while it was parked at 516 N. Main St. between June 27 and 30 and stole $850 worth of property from inside it.

- Crissie Cain reported money stolen from her purse between June 3 and 24 at 2010 Statesville Blvd.

- Jonathan Everette Hedrick, 20, 178 Village Creek Way, was charged June 30 with possession of drug paraphernalia following a vehicle stop at West Harrison and South Fulton streets. He was released on a written promise to appear in court Aug. 7.

- Amber Leigh Gordon reported a $250 CD player was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Salisbury Mall, 1935 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., June 30.

- Pam Bame Wallace reported personal checks stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at Salisbury Mall, 1935 W. Jake Alexander Blvd., June 30.

- Jason James Knoll reported a burglar broke into 907 S. Jackson St. June 30.

- Kassie Renee Hudson, 26, was charged June 28 with possession of drug paraphernalia at 1922 Old Wilkesboro Road.

- Howard Thomas Medlin, 70, 1110 Whisperwood Drive, was charged June 30 with felony taking indecent liberties with children. He was held under $10,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.

- Lashawn Antonio Torrence, 31, was charged June 30 with being a habitual felon at 207 W. Kerr St. He was released on a written promise to appear in the next term of Rowan Superior Court.

- Toby Lee Meadows reported vandals damaged his vehicle while it was parked at 900 Mooresville Road June 30.

- Shirley Ann Robinson reported vandals damaged her vehicle June 30 at the intersection of North Craige and West Kerr streets. A brick struck the trunk and rear window.

- Maria Ortiz, 116 Hemlock Drive, reported two bicycles were stolen June 30 from a back porch at her home.

- Jeffrey Curtis Chapman, 36, was charged June 30 with possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor larceny of three pairs of pliers at Wal-Mart, 323 S. Arlington St.

- Kathleen Zdenck Ladd, 731 S. Fulton St., reported the July 1 theft of a $550 money order from her home.

- Elizabeth Hughes Gentry reported $150 worth of CDs stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at 216 Rutherford St. the night of June 30.

- James Myron Greene reported a cell phone and his Social Security card stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at 1038 Holmes St. the night of June 27.

- Walter Thomas Horne, 49, was charged June 30 with possession of drug paraphernalia at the corner of South Craige and West Bank streets.

- Aaron Termain Campbell, 35, 865 N. Lee St., No. 104, was charged July 1 in the 900 block of Lexington Avenue with being a fugitive from justice in Virginia, where he is wanted for breaking and entering. He was held under $30,000 secured bond pending a first appearance in court.

- Devon Loresse Haywood, 27, 810 S. Main St., No. B16, was charged July 1 with misdemeanor larceny. She was released on a written promise to appear in court July 24.

- Shante Rochelle Brown, 20, 706 S. Ellis St., was charged July 1 with assault on a female based on a complaint by Kendra Ciara Torrence, 100 Clancy St., No. 102-H. Trial date is July 30.

- Rodriguez Dywane Mashore, 27, 266 S. Clay St., was charged July 1 with disorderly conduct on the sidewalk in the 200 block of South Clay Street. He was held under $500 secured bond pending an Aug. 1 trial date.
