The person who says that Ericson did not run the stop sign does not know what they are talking about. I have the police report and eyewitness statements that say she did just that. According to an eyewitness she didn't even slow down for it. I do not believe that she should be crucified for this because it is something that we have all done a dozen times but I also do not think she should get off with a slap on the wrist for taking my mother from me. I do not hate her for it, how could I hate her for doing something I myself have done? It was just her bad luck that my mother was coming when she decided to do it this time.

Ericson should go to jail for this. There is no excuse for running a stop sign. It should be made a huge fine and a working weekend picking up trash on the side of the road for anyone that gets caught running a red light. It's just like playing R.R..........and just as stupid. We drive too fast and don't pay enough attention while driving in this country.

if automobile operators had the same level of training that the motorcycle safety foundation training program provides, we would see a lot less automobile and motorcycle accidents making the roads safer for all of us. as it is, whether in writing on two wheels or four, I become extremely apprehensive whenever I see an SUV or someone using a cell phone because both are indicators of poor quality driving near me.

I think it is a shame that someone who killed another motorist with their disregard for traffic laws or pure inattention is charged with only a misdemeanor! The driver was probably on a cell phone.

Misdemeanor for killing someone? : Friday, July 04, 2008 5:03 PM
A misdemeanor charge for killing someone? Blowing through a stop sign was a purposeful act. At least negligent homicide. What a screwed up state you live in. My sympathies.
