Salisbury City Council has approved a pool hall permit to allow eight pool tables at Billiards Catering, 425 E. Lafayette St.

Julio Nunez, of 1317 Parkview Circle, made the request.

Lt. Melonie Thompson of the Salisbury Police Department said Nunez will not be selling alcohol at the establishment, which is in an old warehouse.

Nunez formerly operated a pool hall on Old Mocksville Road near Ellis Crossroads, but he had to move when the owner sold the property, Thompson said.

Council also approved two pool tables for the Fuel Depot Bar and Grill, located at 2168 Statesville Blvd.

Brian Fox and Daryl Dees made the request.
