Education: Garrett Anderson named to West Point dean's list

West Point dean's list

Cadet Garrett Anderson, son of Susan and Toby Anderson of Salisbury, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the U. S. Military Academy.

To earn this distinction, a cadet must maintain a 3.0 average in all courses.

Anderson graduated from Gray Stone Day School, Misenheimer, in 2007 and will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation at West Point.

Morgan honor roll

The all-A honor roll at Morgan Elementary School for the fourth auarter.

Third grade: Dalen Bartrug, David Burleyson, Laura Fischer, Cameron Lamb, Madison Lovingood, Trevor Ludwick, Caleb Rowland, Hayden Setzer, Victoria Trexler, Erin Zalinsky.

Fourth grade: Shalee Athey, Josh Beaver, Makayla Bradway, Anna Brindle, Jonathan Brindle, Marissa Brinkley, Haley Cole, Bailey DeGroat, Kelly Earls, Katie File, Chase Fritz, Micah Furr, Hunter Harwood, Katie Hovater, Dylan Jennings, Danielle Joyce, Hannah Julian, Baxter Ketchie, Dalton Lambe, Hannah Mayhew, Michaela Patterson, Sawyer Russell, Blake Safrit, Annah Seaford, Charly Small, Corey Wheat.
