The investigation into the double homicide at the Sun-Drop Bottling Plant in Concord last Friday continues with no new details available for public release.
"Every resource we have available has been dedicated to this case," said Concord Police Chief Merl Hamilton. "Thirty Concord officers from various CPD units have been dedicated to solving this crime as quickly as possible but we need help from the public. We have received dozens of tips based on the initial description we distributed and each tip is being carefully analyzed with follow-up if appropriate. Those working this case have been split into shifts to process all in coming information."
It continues to appear robbery was the motive behind this crime. Anyone who has information concerning the crime or who witnessed a suspect fitting the below description in the area of the Sun-Drop Bottling Company is encouraged to call the Concord Police Department, 704-920-5000 or Crime Stoppers 704-93CRIME.
Suspect information:
- Black male, short to average height, slim build
- Wearing white T-shirt and blue jeans.
Meanwhile, the Carolina Speed Professional Indoor Football Team has partnered with the Sun-Drop Bottling Co. to raise money for the families of the two victims' who lost their lives last week.
A portion of the Speed's ticket proceeds from its June 21 game will be given to families.
The Carolina Speed is in their second season of play as a member of the AIFA. The next home game June 21 is against the Florence Phantoms at 7 p.m. at the Cabarrus County Arena and Events Center. For ticket information, please call 704-786-0280 or visit www.carolinaspeedprofootball.com.
