Trinity Oaks residents get a move on for Health and Fitness Day

"We're all dizzy," one Trinity Oaks resident proclaimed after doing a dance move during Trinity Oaks' National Senior Health and Fitness Day.

Residents participated in a dance class taught by Trinity Oaks activities director Debbie Snyder.

Snyder, who said she's responsible for all the "fun stuff" such as in-house activities and trips, led the residents in the Electric Slide, which would've made any disc jockey proud. And the residents weren't the only ones having a good time.

"Trinity Oaks is just a fun place to work and a fun place to be," Snyder said.

The Health and Fitness Day also included activities such as blood pressure checks, hearing aid checks, mobility aid fittings, vision screenings, hat and wig fittings and a diabetic shoe clinic.

Diane Hundley, director of marketing and sales, said this is the first time in five years that Trinity Oaks has held this event.

"The event sounded like something fun to do and it was the perfect opportunity to do a big event for our residents and the public was invited," Hundley said.

Michael Walsh, executive director, said he wants the public to see that Trinity Oaks has a family atmosphere.

That family atmosphere was evident in the laughter and smiles that filled the room.

Trinity Oaks resident J.C. Medlin said he enjoys anything that involves activity. Ray and Betty Simpson said they've been dancing for years.

So the Simpsons' had plenty of experience to get their move on.
