Eight original inductees

Memorabilia from the eight original inductees into the N.C. Music Hall of Fame will be on display at the new museum in Kannapolis this summer. They are:

- Bandleader Kay Kyser, born in Rocky Mount

- Country singer Charlie Daniels, born in Wilmington

- Billy Scott of Billy Scott and the Georgia Prophets, based in Charlotte

- Beach band Chairmen of the Board, based in Charlotte

- Opera singer Victoria Livengood of Thomasville

- Jazz pianist and composer Loonis McGlohon, born in Ayden

- Music promoter Bill Griffin of Greensboro

- Country music singer Ronnie Milsap, born in Robbinsville
