NASCAR Angels invites public to attend taping at Salisbury Fire Station

A film crew from the nationally syndicated "NASCAR Angels" television program will be taping a segment in Salisbury Friday morning that's connected with the family of firefighter Victor Isler Sr., who died in the March 7 fire at Salisbury Millwork along with Justin Monroe.

NASCAR spokesman Tom Sullivan said the public is being invited to attend the taping at 10 a.m. at Salisbury Fire Station No. 1, 514 E. Innes St.

The nature of the event is being kept under wraps until the morning of the taping, but the Isler family knows it will be attending.

In its second season, NASCAR Angels gives deserving families in need of a transportation fix a behind-the-scenes NASCAR experience.

Hosts for the show are former NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and current ABC/ESPN commentator Rusty Wallace and NASCAR.COM spokesperson Shannon Wiseman.

Goodyear Gemini is the presenting sponsor, and its technicians usually work on a car-related project while educating viewers on the importance of regular maintenance.

NASCAR Angels also will be taping parts of the Fire Department's disaster preparedness session for Salisbury citizens being held from 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Wal-Mart SuperCenter.

The shows related to Salisbury will air in July, September and sometime again in 2009.
