KANNAPOLIS — The Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department, in conjunction with Ike's Construction, will present Cooperative Christian Ministry's Teen Concert as part of the 2008 Ike's Construction Summer Events Series.

The free concert will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Village Park Amphitheater, between West A and West C streets off Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.

The third annual concert will feature a variety of bands, dance routines and fine arts, all to benefit homeless families in the community with donations made to Cooperative Christian Ministry.

Concord-based Cooperative Christian Ministry provides assistance to people experiencing a crisis in the areas of food, shelter or finances. The organization receives support from churches, civic groups and individuals.

The concert is sponsored by Ike's Construction, Cabarrus Arts Council, WCNC, Radio Disney, Site Solutions, Walker Marketing, Regions Bank and Bank of America.

On select days throughout the summer, Village Park will host a variety of live arts performances, including a performance by the Piedmont Dance Company and the U.S. Navy Band, as well as concerts and outdoor movies.

Parking for Friday's event will be available at Village Park. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnics are permitted and concessions will be available. No pets, alcohol, grilling or glass bottles.
