CONCORD — Fire and law enforcement officials are investigating a plane crash Tuesday morning.

A man who was flying a one-seater took off from a private airstrip off Poplar Tent Road.

The pilot crashed into a fence outside a home at 2775 Walter Drive, causing some property damage to the fence, according to Norman Franklin, public information officer for the Concord Fire and Life Safety Department.

Franklin said the man had minor injuries, but was sent to Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. The fire department and the Concord Police Department are investigating.

The pilot's name was not readily available. It is unknown where the man was headed and for what purpose.
