An Erwin Middle School student was charged with assaulting a teacher.The Rowan County Sheriff's Office report that on March 17 the student, a sixth grader, was charged with assault on a teacher and disorderly conduct at 170 St. Lukes Church Road.
In other sheriff's reports:
- A 35-year-old woman reported a March 17 simple assault at Sage Lane, Rockwell.
- Lisha Marie Farley, 16, was charged March 17 with misdemeanor communicating threats at 8452 N.C. 801, Mount Ulla.
- Bryan Blair Starnes, 19, was charged March 17 with felony common law robbery.
- Eric J. Williams, a Rowan County Animal Control officer, was threatened with a weapon when he arrived at a Kannapolis residence, March 19 at 2245 Kendra Drive.
- Edward Junior Gibson reported the March 19 theft of his 1985 Chevy Cavalier was stolen from 1065 Gibson Road.
- West Rowan Middle School student sold prescription medication to another student. This same student told the other student the pills would make him him. The incident occurred March 19 at 4775 Statesville Blvd.
- Horace O. King reported a March 19 burglary of a chain saw from his storage building at 455 Menius Road, China Grove.
- Linda West Pruett reported a suspicious fire March 19 at 217 Carolyn Road.
- Lucas Cain, 20, was charged March 19 with misdemeanor assault on a female at 105 Crystal Creek Drive, China Grove.
- James Lee Rankin, 28, was charged March 19 with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance schedule II at Alexander County Correction Center.
- Linda Howard Sutphin, 50, was charged March 19 with misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.
- During an attempted warrant service a convicted felon, Jared Travis Hager, 20, was found with firearms and charged March 19 with felony possession of a weapon by a felon.
- James Tyrone Shavanze, 33, was charged with misdemeanor affray or fighting at 175 N.C. 801, Woodleaf.
- Victoriano Avila, 57, was charged March 19 with misdemeanor driving while impaired at 1055 McKinley Lane.
- Donna Oliver Martin, 35, was charged March 19 with felony assault serious bodily injury at 1200 E. 11th St., Kannapolis.
